If anyone were to ask me what I've found to be the least known, most beloved period drama, I would have to say Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South! Many of us have discovered this gem but I'm always amazed at how many period film fans haven't yet encountered this wonderful series.A group is trying to gather signatures to present to PBS, so that a tremendous oversight can be corrected! I can't believe that PBS hasn't aired North & South more than once by now but apparently, it's only aired on selected stations.

The fact that there are countless die-hard fans of Richard Armitage lurking out there could be traced back to 2004 when BBC first aired this drama without realizing that an Armitage Army of fans would result!
