Because Well Behaived Girls (And Hats!) Rarely Make History. The Magic Of Fedora.

I have aways thought of Fedora hat as a hat with too much character. Fedora also happens to be one of my most favorite types of hats to work on in my Atelier. Not only it has a magical ability to transform your personal style, but, more importantly, it brings out the most delicious parts of woman's personality. :-)
Lady who dares to wear Fedora has tremendous sense of chic, has no fear and knows how to carry herself. Did you know that Fedora is usually thought of as "the bad girls hat" ? :-)))
For the fist time term "Fedora" was used as early as 1891. The word "fedora" came from the title of an 1882 play which was written by Victorien Sardou,Fedora. The play was written for the actress named Sara-Marie-Henriette Rosine Bernard .
The play was first performed in the USA in 1889 and according to the scenario Bernhardt played a part of Princess Fedora. During the performance she wore a hat similar to what we now call Fedora hat.
In the beginning of the 20-s century women's fashion underwent tremendous transformation. New century brought with it not only new shapes, new fit and new ideas. It is also liberated women from the necessity to wear uncomfortable corsets, very long' skirts and dresses.
When it came to hats the idea of exchanging elaborately designed hats heavily decorated with roses, lace and bows for simple boaters and fedoras seemed almost revolutionary. Fedora was viewed as an ultimate rebellion.
It became a symbol of women's hunger for alternative not only when it came to choices in clothes, but ultimately in lifestyle too.
Today, in the first decade of 21-st century Fedora made a very powerful comeback and I hope this time Fedora is here to stay. It is one of the most wearble types of hats in the modern world.
After all, I do believe that well behaved girls (and hats!) rarely make History.
