You Should Know: Dumpe Fresh

Hey!
So while I'm in Paris, I of course have my chic barometer out for dope designers on the French front. One that should definitely be on your radar is Dumpe Fresh:

Appealing to the fashionable urban set, Dumpe Fresh offers a line of playful, bright t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts. A few shots:

With T-shirts starting at $37 and hoodies averaging $70, Dumpe Fresh pieces are certainly affordable wardrobe upgrades. And I could see anyone from Teyana Taylor to Kanye West rocking one of their t's!
It seems they have events here in Paris, so I'm going to try to check them out in person. For you guys in the States, visit their myspace page at www.myspace.com/dumpefresh, check out their online store at www.dumpefresh.com or read their blog at blog.dumpefresh.com.

NYScene: DL 1961 Jeans Preview, TresEmmé at Robert Verdi's

Hey guys,
So, the day after Election Day dawned bright and beautiful. Our new Prez-elect wasted no time getting to work, and neither did the Fashion Bomb! It was a busy day for NYC events.
First stop was the showroom for a new jean brand called DL 1961, which are my latest obsession:
Containing a material called XFIT Lycra, these jeans have 360 degree movement (which means they maintain their shape and don't sag).
The denim was super-soft, like a second-skin, and there was no awkward adjusting of hips and legs ( if you're a curvy girl you know exactly what I mean!!!). I covet!
After DL 1961, I headed over to Robert Verdi's Lounge:Where he hosted TresEmmé's launch of its new StyleSeeker site. I got the chance to do a few things, including get my 'do freshened up:And chat with the fabulous Monsieur Verdi himself (I'm grinning super-hard here!). He sends bisous to Claire:So it was a great fashion day: discovering a dope new brand, a little pampering, and Robert Verdi. What else could a girl want...oh--yes! For you to check out StyleSeeker! It's a great new community site centered on all things style: hair, fashion, entertainment, and events, included. Stop by and tell 'em the FB sent ya!

Cool Online Find: Rockett Mansion

Hey Fashion Bombers!
Today I wanted to put you on to a new line of vintage and original clothing called Rockett Mansion...
Launched just this past May by 2006 Howard University Graduate Melanie Lyke...
...the line consists of supremely well edited shoes, dress, and accessories, all plucked from second hand stores, then remixed with buttons, tailoring, or pleats...
Melanie says her inspirations are, "Postmodern Global Beauty. I love to draw simple, minimalist items from different cultures. They can be glitzy, ornate, doesn't matter as long they are beautiful..."
The Fashion Merchandising student started the Rockett Mansion line because, "I wanted to do my own thing, and didn't want to work for a big fashion house. I was sick of working for places that just didn't 'get it' or understand my aesthetic..."
She continues, "The line is the sum of my love for vintage and living a minimalist lifestyle... I adore the idea of finding beautifully made, well preserved items and mixing them with everyday pieces. Most people see vintage as over-the-top costumes that can't be applied to a daily wardrobe or simply as the attire of hip, starving artists- I beg to differ. Any good stylist knows the key to great personal style is the mixing of old and new as well as expensive and inexpensive. It gives a look dimension and makes it seem effortless."
In addition to being chic, vintage cuts down on waste. "We can easily recycle and use what we already have on this earth because as we all know, polyester isn't going anywhere. It's retail therapy with no buyers remorse."
And you can cut down on spending as well: every Rockett Mansion item is under $50. Perfect for this economic climate!
Check out Rockett Mansion's one of a kind items here. Tell 'em I sent ya!
Smootches!
