Steve - short film with Firth, Keira & Tom Mison

Premiering at the London film fest this month, the short film"Steve" with a running time of 16 minutes.

Rupert Friend previously made the short The Continuing And Lamentable Saga Of The Suicide Brothers with his buddy Tom Mison and Keira Knightley (available on Itunes). This time around Rupert chose to direct and Colin Firth came on board as well.

Steve is a short film about a young couple (Keira Knightley & Tom Mison) whose visits from their downstairs neighbor (Colin Firth) "become increasingly frequent and unpredictable."

I especially like their dance :)

The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of The Suicide Brothers

And now for something completely different... well, definitely looks off the beaten path of the stuff of period dramas but features some well-known faces.
Rupert Friend, Tom Mison and Keira Knightley in a short film (8:30 minutes) that will be available on Itunes.

"It's got an amusing stop-motion animated effect going on with its snowy exterior shots as the brothers make their way to a small barn where they attempt to kill themselves every day at two in the afternoon. This includes a failed hanging and a misfiring pistol to the face. It's all rather darkly comic and it's more of a mood piece than anything else. Knightley plays a fairy that lives with the boys and is frustrated by their suicide attempts and the fact they pay her no mind. It's entirely dialogue free." Rope of Silicon

My favourite quote: Tom Mison's deadpan delivery of how he and Rupert ended up with their fashion choice. "I think we'd both felt we'd look good in liederhosen...I've got nice calves."

The Young Victoria - interview with scriptwriter Julian Fellowes

I love the passion that Julian Fellowes has for British history and for Queen Victoria especially. Given that his wife is the former Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Michael of Kent, he had the luxury of access to royal documents in writing the screenplay for this royal biopic.

For those who wonder how true the film was to Victorian history, I like how Fellowes addresses some of those points in this interview. I had previously linked to a similar interview with him but it was removed from Youtube.

I wonder if anyone has not seen this film yet...and if not, what are ya waiting for?? :)
(Yes, I adore this film so pardon my obsessing over it!)
