it's day one of the Fashion Bomb intern contest! We received over
50 submissions from fashionistas all over the continent--from
Florida to
New York,
Cali to
Chicago and even
Canada!
As soon as candidates e-mailed their interest, we put them to work to scour their local town for
Real Style. Read on for the
411 on our finalists, and also tell us:

Our first
Fashion Bomb Intern contestant is
Vuitton Bain:
A University student in
Canada, Vuitton is a
native Bahamian and fashion fanatic! He says, "
To me, fashion is more than just the label. You have to understand colors, textures, the design aesthetic of designers, the poetry involved in creating that garment. I'd like to believe that I have an innate sense of style, and when it comes to fashion, I know I'd get the job done perfectly." I think so too! For his
Real Style, he snapped a picture of a fly young lady, "
wearing a feathered tube dress paired with a vintage belt and pink FCUK pumps..."
Great job, Vuitton. Looking forward to seeing more!

Orlando, Florida:

She says, "I decided to get some real guy style since I'm sure you'll get lots of pictures of fabulous ladies!" Good thinking!

I have two major missions in life 1) to bring awareness to the unique style found in the southern states, and 2) promote awareness of the beauty in being brown within the fashion industry." For her Real Style, she kept it local, snapping a few pics with friends:

An editor for Buck, a UK based Men's online magazine, Celia-Jane was party ready in a cute sequined black jacket and grey and black spectator booties (which are all the rage here in Paris!).
Boombox is a notorious party described by Time Out as, "one of the wildest parties in the world, splicing freaky fashion, a fierce musical mix and carefree flamboyance." I scanned the crowd for a Fashion Bomb worthy diva and came upon this fierce fashionista:

It was absolutely freezing out, so she rocked a fur accented by a large cherry red tote, caramel pointy boots, a beret, and edgy glasses. Like clockwork when I started speaking in French, she responded in English, and revealed that she was a fashion student. I can always spot 'em!
From her winter white coat to Balenciaga bag and brown riding boots, she emanated chic.
...who starts her day with The Fashion Bomb, and "absolutely loves" T.J. Maxx!! She admits her best Maxx find ever was a Diane von Furstenberg luggage set for under $200. Check out the sexy black leather mini and strappy sandals for her Real Style. She better work!
...she frequents T.J. Maxx for favorites from French Connection, and is a huge fan of Diane von Furstenberg, and Patricia Field. True to her Real Style pic, she loves neutral tones with pops of color. Loving the hair, too!
I hoped the city's finest would come out for the event, so I hung around outside the venue beforehand to see if I could find some Real Style.
They were concert ready in comfy sneakers, skinny jeans, and sweaters. I also didn't mind the New York Yankees hat mixed in with the updated berets.
The young man on the left has a bold hairstyle, and homie on the right keeps it cool with a pair of headphones.
....and appreciated her friend's laid back Chucks Taylors!
...and remember admiring his edgy essence; his haircut is brave, and he has no problem mixing a trendy fringed scarf with his own stylish red pants and red shoes.
A street most known for being home to the world famous Louvre museum:
What most people don't know is that if you walk east, Rue De Rivoli becomes a shopping strip...
...chock full of everything from French chain stores like Etam, Celio and Naf Naf to American staples like GAP and Foot Locker.
...who was representing in true Parisian fashion in dark skinny jeans and brown riding boots. While her overall look is simple, she made it chic by throwing a bit of fur into the mix with her vest.
...a street in the 8th arrondissement that is home to shopping megastores like Les Galeries Lafayette...
...and Au Printemps...
Of course upon arrival at Fedex, I found it was, in very French fashion, closed without reason! Since I had traveled 45 minutes to get there, I decided to chill and look around for some Real Style. I stumbled upon these two friends:
Who stood out to me because of their colorful accessories. The winter doldrums have set in, but these ladies kept it bright with a plum purse on the left, and a metallic jacket and mauve tights on the right.
I'd been been trying to go to the Musee since I touched down, and finally made it there only to find it's closed until November 20th!!?!?! So while kicking rocks outside, I caught sight of this young lady who was running late and trying to catch a cab. I liked her laid back chic style, which was offset by her designer dress, boots, bright red lipstick, and stylish Ray Bans (I'm pretty sure she's wearing this D&G Dolce & Gabbana Plaid Shirt Dress. I LOVE IT!)
