2011 Grammy Awards - Live Tonight!

Tonight millions of viewers will tune in to watch the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Drake and Lady Antebellum are just a few of the artists vying for awards in some of the most prestigious categories.

After a successful year thanks to his “Recovery” album, rap artist Eminem received ten nominations including one for Album of the Year. Rumors have now surfaced that a possible performance featuring the Detroit rapper alongside folk legend Bob Dylan could be a part of the show tonight. This performance is likely to conjure up memories of Eminem’s controversial pairing with Elton John at the Grammys ten years ago, after the rapper was criticized by LGBT groups over what many called rampant homophobia in his lyrics.

Along with Eminem, many other hip-hop artists are being acknowledged at the awards. Four out of the five nominations for Record of the Year have gone to hip-hop acts.

Lady Antebellum, a country trio that made its debut in Nashville just a few years ago, received an impressive six nominations. Pop sensation Lady Gaga received six as well. She’ll be performing her new single, “Born This Way,” and many viewers will be watching just to see what kind of costume she will outfit herself in this year. Meanwhile Justin Beiber’s performance and Best New Artist nomination are sure to keep preteens across the country up past their bed times.

Christina Aguilera will be attempting to make up for her Superbowl screwup during tonight’s show, with a telecast-opening tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Other artists performing tonight include Katy Perry, Usher, Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger and Cee Lo Green. Dr. Dre will also be taking the stage in his first live performance in over a decade.

http://www.celebritysmackblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/grammys-2010.jpg
Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and possibly Britney Spears are set to perform at 2011 Grammy Awards.

Grammy Awards attract the biggest and best names to perform on their stage and it looks like this year will be no different. While the actually Grammy Awards show doesn’t air until February 13th, they announced the nominees a few weeks ago and today they confirmed some of the performers who will be on the show. (Eminem, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga plus more)

Leading off the Grammy Awards 2011 performers are Eminem who is also has 10 Grammy nominations this year. Lady Gaga has also confirmed that she will be performing. She too is up for multiple Grammy’s this year with six nominations. Cee Lo Green who had one of the biggest hits of the summer with his song “Fuck You” will take the stage as well. Cee Lo’s song is only a few months old, but it has seen resurgence in popularity in recent weeks when Gwyneth Paltrow did a cover version of it on the hit show Glee. She is now working on collaboration with him and is rumored to be performing with him this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

Rounding out the performers is Katy Perry who has had a stellar year with her sophomore album and is also up for four Grammy’s, Arcade Fire who has three Grammy nods and country star Miranda Lambert who also has three nominations.

There have been rumors that Britney Spears will be performing, but so far there has not been any confirmation to that. Britney is not up for any awards, but her current single “Hold it Against Me” is tearing up the charts and setting records with how much radio airplay it is getting. Her new album comes out in March so a great performance on the Grammys could help keep her momentum up as she heads into the release of her album and the rumored tour that may follow.
